Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

Rejuvenate your skin, restore your hair, and unlock your body’s natural healing potential.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an advanced regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own blood plasma, enriched with concentrated platelets, to stimulate tissue repair, collagen production, and cell renewal. This natural therapy is widely used across both aesthetic and medical fields to enhance skin texture, reduce hair loss, and support healing.

PRP is especially popular for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration, offering a non-surgical, low-risk option for those seeking long-term improvements without synthetic substances.

How PRP Works

The process begins with a small sample of your own blood, which is spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma rich in platelets. This PRP is then injected into targeted areas to initiate natural regeneration.

Platelets contain growth factors that accelerate the repair and renewal of tissues. When injected into the skin or scalp, PRP enhances blood supply, stimulates collagen and elastin production, and promotes the regeneration of healthier skin cells and hair follicles.

Our PRP Treatments

  • Using PRP, Skin Needling & LED to combat fine lines, dull skin, and signs of ageing with a natural boost from within. This PRP facial treatment restores hydration, firmness, and radiance—improving skin texture and tone over time.

    Ideal for:

    • Dull or dehydrated skin

    • Acne scarring

    • Fine lines and wrinkles

    • Uneven skin tone or texture

  • PRP injections for hair loss stimulate dormant hair follicles and improve blood circulation to the scalp. This can slow hair thinning and promote thicker, healthier hair growth over time.

    Effective for:

    • Early-stage androgenic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness)

    • Thinning hair

    • Strengthening weak hair follicles

    • Postpartum hair shedding

  • PRP is also beneficial in treating acne scars, stretch marks, and other textural skin concerns. The regenerative effects improve skin elasticity, support wound healing, and reduce visible imperfections.

Treatment Process

Initial Consultation:
A comprehensive skin or scalp analysis and medical history check with one of our Registered Nurses to assess suitability and expected outcomes, followed by a telehealth consultation with one of our prescribing doctors.

Blood Collection & Centrifugation:
A small amount of your blood is taken and processed to isolate the platelet-rich plasma.

Targeted Injection or Microneedling Application:
Depending on your goals, PRP is either injected using micro-needles or applied topically during a microneedling session.

Recovery & Aftercare:
Redness, bruising and mild swelling are normal for 24–48 hours. Visible results typically develop over several weeks, with optimal outcomes seen after 3–4 sessions. For a comprehensive list see the risks & side effects section of our website.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Aesthetics Wellness, we prioritise your comfort during PRP treatments. Here's what you can expect:

For the injection portion of your PRP treatment, we apply a topical anaesthetic to the skin. This helps to significantly reduce any sensation during the injections, making the process as comfortable as possible.

However, if your treatment involves microneedling in combination with PRP or for hair treatment, we do not use topical numbing for the microneedling part of the procedure. This decision is based on current research indicating that topical anaesthetic agents can potentially impact the effectiveness and outcomes of microneedling. Your comfort is important to us, but so is ensuring you achieve the best possible results from your treatment.

We understand that comfort is a key concern during any procedure. While you may experience some sensation during the treatment. Our patients typically find the procedure to be well-tolerated, and our team is dedicated to making your experience as comfortable as possible.

  • Skin improvements are often noticeable within 2–3 weeks, best results are seen 3-6 months after full course of treatments is complete.

Hair regrowth typically becomes visible after 2–3 months, with full results developing by 6 months.

  • Because PRP uses your own blood, side effects are rare. Temporary redness, mild swelling, or bruising may occur post-treatment.

See our comprehensive section on risks & side effects.
